These limitations are often exacerbated by high interfacial tension, which traps immobile oil within reservoirs, greatly restricting cumulative oil production. Severe paraffin buildup caused drastic production declines, dropping from 195 BOPD to only 3 BOPD over eight months. The resulting operational inefficiencies substantially impacted economic viability and required frequent interventions.
